INDICATIONS
This medication is used in the treatment of diabetes mellitus in adults , adolescents and children older than 2 years.
PRECAUTIONS
Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), hyperglycemia(high blood sugar) , transfer from other insulin products , combination of thiazolidinediones(a class of medicines used in the treatment of diabetes mellitus ) and insulin products , eye disorders. Hypokalemia(low blood potassium).
CONTRAINDICATIONS
This medication is contraindicated in episodes of hypoglycemia ( low blood sugar) , hypokalemia (low blood potassium) and in patients with liver problems , decreased kidney function , pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas) , medullary thyroid cancer or a family history of it among other disorders . Pregnant females should generally avoid this medication as well. Consult your doctor for more details.
SIDE EFFECTS
Individuals using the medicine may experience the following side effects: Immune system disorders, hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), lipodystrophy (abnormal distribution of fat in the body), injection site reactions e.g. hematoma (abnormal collection of blood outside the vessel), pain, hemorrhages (blood pooling outside of the vessel), erythema (redness of the skin), nodules (abnormal growth under the skin), swelling, discoloration, and pruritus (itchiness). Patients may also experience allergic reactions, edema (swelling) and weight gain.

This medication requires a risk/benefit assessment in pregnant females. Consult your doctor for more appropriate advice according to your condition.

This medication has no known risk in lactating females. Consult your healthcare provider for further details.
