Cilostazole is contraindicated to use in pregnant women.
The use of cilostazole is not recommended in lactating women.
Patients using cilostazole are advised to report any episodes of bleeding or bruising. Be cautious if you are suffering from atrial or ventricular ectopy, atrial or ventricular flutter, and diabetes.
What is cilostazol used for?
Cilostazol is used in the treatment of temporary claudication (a condition in which cramping pain in the leg is induced by exercise).
How does it work?
Cilostazol widens the blood vessels, thereby increasing the blood flow to the lower limbs and hence reducing the pain.
When should it be taken?
Take it at least half an hour before or two hours after breakfast and dinner.
How long does it take for the symptoms to improve?
It may take up to 12 weeks before your symptoms improve.
