zolmitriptan
This medicine is used to treat migraine with or without aura (sensory disturbances).
Contradications
The patients with uncontrolled hypertension (high blood pressure), ischemic heart disease and other heart-related conditions such as Prinzmetal’s angina and Wolf-Parkinson-White syndrome, renal (kidney) and hepatic (liver) impairment, history of stroke or Transient Ischemic Attack, and certain types of migraines should avoid use of this medicine.
Side effects
The patients administered with this medicine may experience nausea, dizziness, asthenia, dry mouth, heaviness in the throat, neck, limbs and chest, muscular weakness, headache, rise in blood pressure (temporary), heart function abnormalities, and allergic reactions.
Expert Advice
- Please do not crush, break, or chew the tablet form of this medicine. Swallow whole completely.
- Do not remove the cap of the nasal spray until you are ready to use it.
- Please do not take this medicine within 24 hours of taking another migraine medication.
- Please do not take more than 10 milligrams of this medicine per day.
- Please immediately contact your doctor in case of any serious adverse effects.
