This medicine is used as an adjunct in treating tuberculosis (infection of the lungs), some types of leprosy (skin disease), Brucellosis (disease caused by consumption of unpasteurized milk or dairy products), Legionnaire’s disease (severe form of pneumonia causing lung inflammation), endocarditis (heart infection), and serious staphylococcal infections (various infections involving the skin and internal organs).

Contradications
Previous hypersentivity to any rifampin and jaundice.
Side effects
Heart burn, epigastric distress, anorexia, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, sore mouth, rash, urticaria (hives), thrombocytopenia, muscular weakness, pain in extremities, visual disturbances, hematuria (presence of blood in urine), mentrual disturbances, headache, dizziness, GI upset, purpura (purple patches on skin), pyrexia (fever), chills, raised LFTs, secretions and skin reactions.
