ranitidine

This drug is used for the treatment of duodenal, benign gastric and post-operative ulceration, including that due to NSAIDs. It can also be used for the prevention of NSAID induced ulcers, and duodenal ulcers associated with H.pylori. Other indications can include oesophageal reflux, reduction of gastric acid, chronic episodic dyspepsia (indigestion), moderate to severe oesophagitis, and long-term treatment of healed GERD.

Side effects

This drug can cause headaches, dizziness, and changes in liver function. Rare side effects can include hepatitis, decreased platelet count, decreased WBC count, decreased granulocyte count, decrease in all kinds of blood cells, hypersensitivity, confusion, breast symptoms in men, reversible impotence, rash, decreased heart rate, and inflammation of pancreas.
