isoniazid
Isoniazid is used with other medications to treat active tuberculosis (TB) infections. It is
also used alone to prevent active TB infections in people who may be infected with the
bacteria (people with positive TB skin test).
Contradications
It is not recommended in patients with isoniazid associated hepatic injury or other severe adverse reactions with isoniazid.
Side effects
The common side effects are numbness and tingling in the extremities, hepatitis, nausea,
vomiting, upset stomach, fever or rash.
