What is epirubicin used for?
Epirubicin is said to be a vesicant substance; what does it mean?
It means that epirubicin is a substance that has the potential to seep out of the blood vessels and cause blistering in tissues.
How is this medicine taken?
It is taken intravenously (within the vein) and under the supervision of a medical facilitator only.
Does it result in any disturbance in the body, if so then what should be done about it?
Epirubicin is reported to affect blood cell count and liver functions soon after the patient starts to use it, hence some lab tests are regularly performed for its sake. Incentives are taken if any disturbance is found.
Is it okay to walk or perform any exercise immediately after consuming the drug?
No, it is not. The drug is reported to make one dizzy and lose focus for some time after it is consumed. You are advised to wait for a few hours before resuming such activities.
