This medicine is used for treating infertility in women due to oligo-menorrhea (irregular and menstrual blood flow) or secondary amenorrhea (e.g. absence of menstruation due to conditions such as polycystic ovarian disease). It is also used to treat male infertility.

Female infertility due to oligomenorrhoea (mentrual cycle greater than 35 days) or secondary amenorrhoea (absence of mentrual cycles) associated with polycystic ovarian disease. Male infertility.
Contradications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with liver dysfunction, large ovarian cyst, endometrial carcinoma (cancer in the lining of endometrium), uterine bleeding (bleeding from uterus), uncontrolled thyroid dysfunction.
Side effects
Ovarian hyperstimulation, hot flushes, abdominal discomfort, visual discomfort, insomnia (inability to sleep), breast tenderness, headache, intermenstrual spotting, menorrhagia (heavy menstrual cylces), weight gain, rashes, dizziness, hairloss, ovarian enlargement, GI upset, urticaria (pale red bumps on skin), alopecia (hairfall in patches), fatigue, jaundice, abnormal LFTs and anxiety.

Uterine fibroids (non-cancerous growth of the uterus, depression, risk factors for thrombophlebitis (blood clots in your legs).
