Description
Growth Hormone Deficiency, commonly known as Dwarfism or Pituitary Dwarfism, is a condition characterized by release of insufficient amounts of growth hormone in the body.
Causes

- Frequent exposure to radiation
Symptoms
The following are the symptoms:
- Greater body fat, especially around the waist
- Anxiety and depression
- Decreased libido or sexual interest
- Depression
- The feeling of being isolated
- Less muscle mass
- Greater heat or cold sensitivity
- Decreased stamina
- Low bone density
- Cholesterol level changes
Diagnosis
The diagnosis of Growth Hormone Deficiency is made when a doctor examines the patient physically, checks relevant symptoms, and performs certain lab screening tests.
One lab test checks growth hormone levels in the body; it includes drawing blood after 10-12 hours of fasting, and stimulating the pituitary gland. Your doctor may prescribe more tests for the diagnosis.
