Avoid this medication if:
Consult your doctor if:
Take the medicine with food. This will avoid stomach problems.
Avoid performing a task that requires alertness, such as driving etc. This medicine causes drowsiness.
Inform your doctor if you have a heart problem, eye condition (such as glaucoma), Kidney diseases, Myasthenia Gravis, enlarged prostate, hyperthyroidism, chronic constipation, overactive thyroid.
Before any surgical or dental procedure, inform the doctor/dentist that you are taking this medicine.
Be careful about dryness of the mouth and eyes. This can be relieved to some extent by chewing gum and staying hydrated.
This medication is recommended in patients with an unstable bladder, urinary urgency, who feel the need to urinate frequently, and those with urinary incontinence (patients don't have control over their urination and pass urine involuntarily).
Patients using this medication may at times experience dry mouth and GI (stomach) upset. If you experience any of these symptoms for a long period of time, consult your doctor immediately.
Pregnancy
Risk can not be ruled out, so please consult your doctor before using this medication.
Lactation
This medication should not be used by lactating mothers.
Driving
Please avoid driving when taking this medicine as it may affect your ability to drive.
Alcohol
Please avoid consuming alcohol when taking this medicine.
Precautions
This medication should be used with extreme caution in patients who are at risk of urinary retention (not able to empty their bladder) due to some bladder outflow obstruction.
This medication is not recommended in patients with severe GI (gastro-intestinal) conditions, and urinary retention (patients can't empty their bladder).
When should I expect an improvement in my symptoms?
Effects can be seen after taking this medicine regularly for 4 weeks.
Is this medicine a steroid?
No, this medicine is not a steroid. It is an antispasmodic drug.
How does this medicine work?
This medicine works by increasing the amount of urine that the bladder can hold. It also relaxes the muscle of the bladder. This helps to control the flow of urine.
Can this medicine be used for children?
This medicine should not be used for children younger than 5 years.
Can I take this medicine with painkillers, and with birth control medication?
There are no known interactions of this medicine with painkillers or birth control medication. However, it is always best to consult your physician before taking any medicine.
