The oral tablets are used in the management of pain in osteoarthritis (type of arthritis) , Rheumatoid arthritis (type of arthritis caused by autoimmune disorder), ankylosing spondylitis (arthritis that affects spine), acute Gout (arthritis due to uric acid build up) and Juvenile chronic arthritis JCA.
It is from the NSAID group medicines. It is for relieving painful inflammatory conditions.
Side Effects
Some patients may experience stomach disturbances, skin rash and reactions, oedema (swelling), Malaise (body ache), brain effects and Tinnitus (ringing in ears). Please consult your doctor if you experience any of these symptoms.
Warnings
Please consult your doctor before taking this medicine. Pregnant females should only use it when no safer alternative exists for a serious problem.
Lactating females should consult their doctors before using this medicine.
This medicine must be used with caution by patients with Renal (kidney) impairment, hepatic (liver) problems, heart failure (particularly elderly patients), Monitor those patients getting long-term therapy and those with phenylketonuria (metabolic disorder).
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity or asthma like responses to Piroxicam beta cyclodextrin.
- 3rd trimester of pregnancy.
- Lactation.
- History of Gastrointestinal disorders that lead to bleeding abnormalities.

Indications:
This medication is used for treatment of symptoms of Rheumatoid Arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, musculo-skeletal disorders such as sprains and strains, gout attacks, painful menstruation, and migraine.
Storage:
Please store this medicine at room temperature (18-25 Celsius). Keep medicine away from excessive light, moisture, and children. Please do not flush medicines down the toilet. Please read the leaflet provided with the medicine for further storage guidance.
Administration:
This medicine is mostly taken orally (through mouth), preferably immediately after meals. The dose is dependent on the age and severity of condition. Consult your doctor before use.
Precautions:
May cause drowsiness; therefore, avoid doing work requiring alertness e.g. driving after taking this medicine, minimize use of tobacco and alcohol, patients with heart, renal (kidney) and hepatic (liver) impairment, high blood pressure, asthma, vascular disease, visual disturbances, Crohn’s disease, and elderly should be cautious.
Effects on pregnancy and lactation:
Not recommended during pregnancy and lactation.
Side Effects:
You may experience skin reactions/allergies, swelling, hearing disturbances, nausea, abdominal pain, altered liver function tests, fatigue, and thirst.
Contraindications:
Aspirin/anti-inflammatory agent associated allergies, active gastric or intestinal ulcer, severe heart, renal (kidney) and hepatic (liver) dysfunction, bleeding disorders.
