This medicine is usually prescribed to type 2 diabetes patients who are unable to control their blood glucose levels with just exercise and diet. Patients who are unable to control their blood glucose levels with just metformin are also prescribed this medicine.
Some patients might experience hypoglycemia (low blood glucose), visual disturbances, upset stomach, and rash. Please consult your doctor if you experience any of these symptoms.

Research suggests that this medicine should be avoided by women who are breastfeeding.
Driving
Please avoid driving when taking this medicine as it may affect your ability to drive.

Precautions
It is important to occasionally check blood glucose levels and glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c blood test) to ensure that treatment is working and blood glucose levels are in the normal range.
Please consult your doctor before taking this medicine if you have any of these conditions; type 1 diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis (diabetes complication), renal or hepatic insufficiency (kidney or liver disorder).
Can this medicine cause low blood sugar?
This is a possible side effect, but can be avoided if meals are taken regularly. Try to carry sugar or a sugary drink in case you experience lightheadedness, or any other symptoms of low blood sugar. Take extra precautions during times of stress, or dehydration (fever, diarrhea etc.)
What do I do if I miss a dose?
You can take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If you remember when it is almost time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose entirely. Do not double your dose to catch up for missed doses.
What will happen if I skip a meal?
If you are not regular with your meals, you may experience symptoms of low blood sugar: Such as palpitation, sweating, dizziness, light headedness etc. In this case, taking sugar can relieve your symptoms.
Will this medicine make me gain weight?
Weight gain is a possible side effect, kindly consult your physician if it occurs.
Should this medicine be used beyond the date of expiry?
Kindly avoid taking any medication beyond the mentioned date of expiry.
To which class of drugs does repaglinide belong?
It is an insulin secreting, non-sulfonylurea drug that comes under the meglitinide category.
What do I use repaglinide for?
If you are a Type 2 diabetic patient, your pancreas is not making enough insulin and repaglinide is going to help the pancreas make more insulin to remove the excess glucose levels from blood.
What is the safety of replaginide?
It is absolutely safe and side-effects caused are relatively mild when compared to sulfonylurea drugs. Any side-effect felt should be reported to doctor.
