Description

Novidat tablet contains ciprofloxacin in it which is a quinolone antibiotic. It works by killing the bacteria causing the infection. Ciprofloxacin is indicated in treating bacterial infections, such as the following:  

• Uncomplicated Urinary Tract Infections (Acute Cystitis)
• Complicated Urinary Tract Infections
• Acute Uncomplicated Pyelonephritis

Directions For Use

Directions for use

• For oral administration i.e. taken via the mouth
• For dose instructions, follow the prescribed course of therapy given by the doctor or pharmacist
• Take the medicine with a full glass of water
• Can be taken with or without food. Avoid having caffeine or chocolate containing food items with ciprofloxacin.
• In case a dose is missed, then take it as soon as you remember on the same day. However, if next day has arrived, then take only that day’s dose and do not double it.
• The medicine course should be completed as recommended by the doctor/pharmacist even if you see symptoms subsiding.
• It is prescription medication, so should be used on as-needed basis only.

Store at room temperature away from direct heat and sunlight. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.

Precautions

• This tablet can make you sensitive to the sun so limit your time in the sun and use sunscreen, wear protective clothes, and follow all other measures outdoor
• Do not have antacids, supplements with calcium, magnesium, aluminum, iron, or multivitamins for 6 hours before & 2 hours after administering ciprofloxacin.
• Do not use Novidat while using a medicine called tizanidine (muscle relaxant) or blood thinners (warfarin etc.) as it can lead to unwanted side effects

When not to use

This medicine is not recommended for patients with the following:

• Not recommended for use if you are allergic to ciprofloxacin or other quinolone antibiotics (moxifloxacin, norfloxacin, nalidixic acid) or any other ingredient present in Novidat tablet.
• Do not use Novidat while using a medicine called tizanidine (muscle relaxant) as it can lead to unwanted side effects.
• Not recommended for use in children under 18 years of age (except in inhalational anthrax).
• Do not use in Viral Infections.
