What are the uses of Desmopressin?
This medication is used for controlling the amount of urine the kidneys produce. Normally, this is done by a substance known as ‘vasopressin’ naturally present in the body. In some conditions such as diabetes insipidus, head injury, or brain surgery, the body may produce lesser amount of vasopressin, adversely affecting the amount of urine produced. Desmopressin is produced synthetically to regulate the amount of urine produced.
