In males, it increases the sperm count, thereby increasing male fertility. This medicine is used to treat hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (a clinical syndrome that results from the failure of gonads) and delayed puberty associated with insufficient gonadotropic pituitary function.
The side effects of HCG are swelling, headache, tiredness, mood changes, altered sexual drive, and sensitivity reactions.
