Watery or bloody stools can occur 2 or more months after therapy.
Take sufficient amount of fluids.
Contact prescriber if there's redness, swelling nausea, vomiting.
This medication is indicated for use in complicated intra-abdominal infection (stomach infection), community-acquired pneumonia (pneumonia acquired by patients who have little to no exposure to hospital settings), complicated UTI including pyelonephritis(inflammation of the kidneys), acute pelvic infections including endometritis (infection of uterus), septic abortion (miscarriage due to infection) and post-surgical gynaecological functions, complicated skin and soft tissue infection including lower extremity infection in diabetics, bacterial septicemia caused by susceptible strains (infection in blood).
The adverse effects of this medicine are headache, infused vein complications, phlebitis/thrombophlebitis (infection of veins), diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, CNS disorders, extravasation (a condition in which the drug leaks in to the blood causing infection), hypotension (low blood pressure), dyspnea (shortness of breath), rash, vaginal pruritus (severe intense itching in vagina), injection site reaction, rarely blood dyscrasias (disorders in blood cells), hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), cardiovascular disturbance (heart problems), respiratory symptoms and hypersensitivity. There may also be elevated ALT, AST, alkaline phosphatase and platelet count with the use of this drug.

Precautions
This medication should be taken with caution in patients with the history of colitis (inflammation of the colon), in infants less than 3 months and surgery exceeding the duration of 4 hours.
This medicine is contraindicated for use if patients have hypersensitivity to beta-lactam drugs and amide-type local anesthesia. It is also not recommended for use in severe shock, heart block and kidney impairment.
