This medication is used for the treatment of malaria, hepatic amoebiasis (areas of pus due to infection), giardiasis (parasitic disease), rheumatoid arthritis (autoimmune destruction of joints).
Contraindications
Patients who have the following conditions should not take this medicine: low blood sugar, G6PD deficiency, low amount of magnesium and potassium in the blood.
Precautions
Patients administered with this medication must be cautious if they have impaired renal(kidney) or hepatic(liver) function. Perform eye test before and during long-term therapy.
Side effects
Patients administered with this medication may experience, headache, GI distress, skin eruptions, depigmentation, hair loss, blurred vision, corneal opacities.
