Flexin tablets contains naproxen in it which is a NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug). It acts by blocking production of certain chemicals/substances in body which cause inflammation (inflammatory mediators). It is indicated for relieving painful conditions like muscle aches, headaches (migraine), menstrual cramps, tendonitis (inflammation in tendons), & dental pain. It is also approved for treating rheumatoid arthritis (chronic pain in joints), osteoarthritis (smooth cartilage cushioning bones wear out), juvenile arthritis (arthritis in children), ankylosing spondylitis (inflammation of joints of spine), bursitis (pain in shoulder, elbow, hip & knee joint), symptoms of gout (form of arthritis) & post-operative pain.
Most side effects occur for a short period & are mild. Side effects seen include gastrointestinal upset, abdominal pain, ulceration, headache, tinnitus (ringing of ear), edema (fluid retention) and hypertension (high blood pressure) etc. Consult doctor/pharmacist if condition worsens or persist.

It is beneficial:
Store the medicine at room temperature. Keep it away from the source of heat or direct sunlight.
Do not flush or pour the medicine in drainage unless said otherwise by the doctor. Ask doctor for proper and safe discard of Flexin tablet
After how long of taking naproxen, can I lie down?
It is advised to not lie down for about 10 minutes of taking the medicine.
Can 2 naproxen 500mg tablet be taken at the same time?
In adults you may take two to three 500mg tablets once in a day. Daily dose shouldn’t exceed 1,375mg
What side effects occur with naproxen sodium?
Common one’s include upset stomach, drowsiness, nausea, heartburn & dizziness
Is ibuprofen less effective than naproxen?
Naproxen helps relief pain for longer than ibuprofen, which means you don’t have to take naproxen more often as compared to ibuprofen.

Naproxen comes with BLACK BOX WARNING i.e. drug effects which may be dangerous for patients. Flexin is known to cause risk of heart disease i.e. its long long-term use or high doses elevate the risk. Its risk increase in patients having heart diseases or high blood pressure. It shouldn’t be taken for pain before or after heart bypass surgery. It causes ulcers and bleeding in stomach & intestine which can be very fatal (cause death). The risk is higher if you are 65 above. It has water retention & swelling warning. It can cause asthma attack, so in case you’ve asthma, don’t use naproxen. Inform doctor/pharmacist of all medication that you are taking as it can interact and cause serious side effects of naproxen or other drug: blood pressure drugs, antidepressants (SSRI), heartburn drugs (aluminum hydroxide, sucralfate), with other NSAIDs, cholestyramine, methotrexate, lithium, & warfarin
