Carbimazole is used in the treatment of thyrotoxicosis (excessive thyroid hormone in the body).
Its side effects are rashes, nausea, headache, GI upset, liver disorders, skin reactions, arthralgia (joint pain), and decreased bone marrow activity.
Risk cannot be out ruled hence caution is advised
use is contraindicated in nursing females

Caution is adviced in the following conditions: Patients are advised to inform their doctors about the development of any sore throats, mouth ulcers, bruising, fever, malaise (muscle pain), or if any similar illness results. Those with mild to moderate liver impairment, intrathoracic goiter (changing of thyroid gland position), and elderly patients are advised to observe caution.

Indications:
This medication is used for treating hyperthyroidism. It is a condition in which the thyroid gland becomes hyperactive and thyroid hormone levels increase in the blood.
Storage:
Please store the tablet form of this medicine at room temperature (18-25 Celsius). Keep medicine away from children, and excessive light and moisture.
Precautions:
The patients with sore throat, intrathoracic goiter (thyroid gland disorder) mouth ulcers, malaise, hepatic (liver) impairment, and elderly should be cautious.
Effects on pregnancy and lactation:
The risk cannot be ruled out; therefore, caution is advised during pregnancy. Not recommended during lactation.
Administration:
This medicine is mostly taken through the mouth. The dosage is dependent on the age, condition and its severity. Please consult a doctor before using this medicine.
Side Effects:
You may experience rashes, joint pain, bone-marrow depression, and hepatic (liver) disorders.
Contraindications:
The patients with severe hepatic (liver) impairment, bleeding disorders, and breathing disorders should avoid use of this medicine.
